American retailers are gearing up for the Black Friday rush. Closer to home, a rendition of the shopping frenzy is set to get underway. Tomorrow is “Plaid Friday” in downtown Prince George.
Shoppers can get into the holiday spirit with store-to-store carolers, while taking advantage of some great sales. More than 60 downtown businesses are participating in the first “Plaid Friday”. One of them is Le Beaux Visage. The Owner/Operator, Heather Mahy, says “I think it’s a great opportunity for people to come down and discover downtown. See all the little stores we have. Half the people will be so surprised with what they see in the windows; the different art displays, the beautiful perfume bottle displays, the clothing stores…and they are shopping local!”
Those wearing plaid will receive additional discounts at select stores, as well as a free tote bag. They will also have get chance to put their name in a draw for prizes, some of which include a stay-cation, gift cards and passes to Exit Prince George.
The Coordinator for Downtown Prince George, Alisha Rubadeau, says “We have free holiday photos that are happening in Hubspace; on the corner of 3rd and Quebec, starting at 5 p.m. and going until 8 p.m.”
