It’s becoming clear that most BCHL teams won’t want to play at Rolling Mix Concrete Arena after the Spruce Kings a ninth consecutive home game Saturday night 6-3 over the Salmon Arm Silverbacks.
After just 20 minutes of play, Prince George was up 2-0 with clutch goals from Chong Lee and Adam Burnett. The second frame would bring two more Spruce Kings goals as Tyler Anderson and Jarod Hovde both got on the board.
Hovde’s goal would prove to be the game winner and the fifth time this season that the Spruce Kings forward has managed to earn that honour. Prince George captain, Brett Mennear also had another highlight reel night with four assists on Saturday to follow up his hat-trick performance on Friday and earn him a total of eight points on the weekend.
The Spruce Kings now take a few days off before they go for a 10th straight home victory this Thursday night against the Chilliwack Chiefs.
