New Affordable Housing Projects Coming

Two major housing projects are coming. The Province used Elizabeth Fry Place to announce $3.5 million for the Aboriginal Housing Society to build 27 for affordable housing units for low-income seniors with a priority for elders of aboriginal ancestry. That project will be built on Spruce Street.
The second is $1.6 million to go toward affordable housing for families in behind Studio 2880. That project will be 35 units.
” We know that having a home is important to everyone and adding this capacity will make a difference. Thank you so much to the organizations who are working hard to reduce the struggle people have finding safe, affordable housing options.”
It’s expected the shovels could go in the ground on the latter project as early as next Spring.
