Quesnel Mounties are looking for the driver of a white SUV that struck a cyclist late Wednesday afternoon at the intersection of Marsh Drive and Baker Drive. The 30 year old female cyclist was treated for minor injuries and released from hospital.
As the sun continues to set earlier in the day, Mounties are reminding drivers to be on the look out for pedestrians and cyclists at all times of the year. “Drivers should ensure their vehicle’s headlights are functional and clean and that they pay extra attention when approaching crosswalks or areas of high foot traffic,” said Sergeant Chris Riddle. He added, “pedestrians and cyclists also need to ensure they are visible to motorists when in dark and inclement weather.”
Police have interviewed some witnesses but are hopeful others with contact the detachment at 250 992-9211. Witnesses who wish to remain anonymous can call BCCrimeStoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
