Connaught Youth Centre Society Gets Funding

The Connaught Youth Centre has received a substantial gift.
Members of the Vanderhoof and Districts Co-op arrived at the Connaught Youth Centre, with a cheque for $20,000. The Centre was one of 111 applications for the Co-op’s newly formed Community Support Fund. In total, 11 organizations were accepted for funding.
“All of us at Vanderhoof and Districts Co-op are proud to be able to support initiatives that support and improve the quality of life in our communities,” says Bud Pye, President of the Board of Directors.
The Co-op serves a large geographic area and create the Fund to help support the communities within it.
The funding will be used for a youth drop-in centre, a before and after school program, a community kitchen and an equine-facilitated wellness program.
“The Connaught Youth Centre Society is honoured to be chosen for a Community Support funding from the Vanderhoof Co-op,” says Catherine Kendall, Executive Director of the Society.
The Youth Centre is designed to provide a safe place for children, youth and families.
