The Central BC Railway & Forestry Museum will be shining bright for the holidays. The annual “Celebration of Lights” is set to get underway this weekend.
Prince George residents can enjoy over 100,000 Christmas lights as they stroll, or take a train ride, through the park grounds. Over 10 years ago, the museum started out with about 20,000 lights. It has grown significantly since then, with volunteers starting to string lights as early as mid-October.
Last year was a record year for the museum. “We saw between 300 to 700 people per day,” says the Event Coordinator, Binny Johal. “We are looking to surpass that this year.”
The Celebration of Lights runs:
- December 18th-23rd from 4 p.m.- 8 p.m.
- December 24th from 2 p.m.-6 p.m.
- December 27th-30th from 4:30 p.m.-7:30 p.m.
“The one thing I look forward to it is just seeing the community come together,” says Johal. “it’s the holiday season so everyone is happy and cheerful.”
