UPDATE: Three In Custody Following Armed Robbery

Local Mounties are continuing to investigate an armed robbery Friday night at a 7/11 convenience store located on the corner of Tabor Boulevard and 1st Avenue.

Sgt. Chad Chamberlain with the Prince George RCMP says three men were taken into custody following a pursuit with police. A firearm has also been recovered.

“It was 9:23 p.m. when the report of an armed robbery came in,” Chamberlain said. “We had information received that a handgun was involved and the suspects fled the scene on foot. A police service dog then was able to track to an area where the suspects got into a vehicle.”

Police found that the vehicle was a Dodge Caravan which was pursued and later located on Foothills Boulevard near the Chief Lake Road Area. “The car was stopped with the use of a spike belt and three suspects were taken into custody,” Chamberlain said. “The police service dog also assisted in apprehension of the suspects.”

At this time, the names of the three men involved in the armed robbery are not being released.
