‘You get a goal! You get a goal! Everybody gets a goal!’

The Cariboo Cougars continue to win hockey games and scoring goals was certainly not a problem this weekend.

Coming off an 8-1 victory Saturday versus the North Island Silvertips, the Cariboo Cougars outdid themselves in the rematch Sunday morning. Cariboo defeated North Island 11-1 for a combined 19 goals in the span of two games.

In game one, Joel Patsey, Ty Kolle, and Reid Perepeluk each had three point nights. Kolle had a pair of goals, while Perepeluk, Hunter Floris, Tyler Maser, Brandon Rowley, Mason Richey, and Jeremy Gervais also scored.

Zach Wickson had to make just 10 saves for the easy victory.

On Sunday, a very similar story unfolded. After the first period, the Cougars were up 4-0. That score doubled to 8-0 after two periods and finished at 11-1.

Daine Dubois scored four times for Cariboo Sunday morning and also tallied an assist. Meanwhile, Richey had a five point morning of his own, scoring twice and collecting three assists.

Cariboo now sits at 21-2-1-0 on the season as the top-ranked team in the BCMML. It’s a fourth straight victory that the Cougars will take to the Mac’s Midget AAA Tournament in Calgary.

The Cougars play the Calgary Northstars 3 p.m. Monday December 26th in their first game of the tournament.
