The Prince George Cougars continued its winning ways Saturday night with a big 2-1 victory in Spokane against the Chiefs.
Tate Olson got the cats rolling early on in the first period with a big blast from the point on the powerplay for his third goal of the season
In the third period, Aaron Boyd would seal the deal for the Cougars. The forward raced down the right wing and buried the winner.
The Cougars celebrated a fifth consecutive win going into the Christmas break, but it was a milestone night for Cats goalie, Ty Edmonds.
Edmonds now holds the Prince George Cougars franchise record for most saves with 5,005. The 20 year old has also now played in 188 games to tie Scott Myers for the most games played by a Cougars goaltender.
Prince George is now ranked number one in the WHL going into the Christmas break. The club will take a little more than a week off and is back in action December 27/28 for a pair of games in Victoria against the Royals.
