It’s a case of the post-Christmas blues, or rather the Royal blues. Victoria rode netminder Griffen Outhouse to a 3 – 0 win over the visiting Prince George Cougars Wednesday night, their second win over the Division leading Cougars in two nights. Outhouse, a former Cariboo Cougar, stopped 40 shots for the shutout. Tuesday he stopped 42 of 43 shots in a 5 – 1 Victoria win.
Nick McBride faced 25 shots in the loss as the Cougars lost for just the 9th time this season.
The game was chippy with more than 150 minutes in penalties handed out. There were four fights, and seven misconducts including game misconducts for the Cougars Jesse Gabrielle and Kody McDonald.
Prince George looks to snap their 2 game losing streak Friday night in Everett. The Cougars have lost all three games against the Silvertips this season.
