What a way to finish off 2016 for the Prince George Spruce Kings.
Prince George took the Langley Rivermen all the way down to the wire in a huge 7-6 double overtime victory Friday night.
Tyler Anderson played the hero role, putting away the game-winner just 44 seconds into double overtime. Newly acquired defenceman, Bryan Allbee got the assist on the play in his first game in a Spruce Kings uniform.
Anderson and Captain, Brett Mennear each tallied two goals and an assist on the night, while Ben Brar put home two goals of his own.
With the victory, Prince George now takes sole possession of third place in the BCHL Mainland Division.
The Spruce Kings will be back on the ice for a tilt Friday January 6th in Powell River, followed by games in Alberni on the 7th and in Nanaimo on the 8th.
