BC’s unemployment rate has dropped year over year, but not this city’s. The province’s jobless rate went from 6.7 percent in December of 2015, compared to 5.7 percent last month. However, the opposite has happened with Prince George’s rate. It went from 6.2 percent in December of 2015 to 7.1 percent last month. Nationally, there was a boost of 81, 000, 300 new positions in the category, the biggest one-month increase in full-time jobs in almost five years. And the local numbers are positive, as well.
