Hosting a game on home ice for the first time in 23 days, the Prince George Cougars welcomed their BC Division rivals, the Victoria Cougars on Friday night. Unfortunately it wasn’t the result the Cats will looking for as they lost 2-1.
Regan Nagy provided the offense for Victoria with a goal and an assist, while Kody MacDonald got the lone goal for the Cougars. In his first game with Prince George since being acquired from the Moose Jaw Warriors, Nikita Popugaev put up one assist.
In net, Ty Edmonds made 36 saves on the night for the Cougars, while Victoria goalie Griffen Outhouse turned aside 25 shots in the winning performance.
This is the fifth straight victory for the Royals and their fourth straight win against the Cougars this season.
Both clubs face off for the rematch 7 p.m. at CN Centre.
