Restrictions on Pit Bulls and other dogs deemed dangerous under the animal control bylaw may not be worth the trouble. That’s according to a report done by City staff. Currently, Pit Bulls, American Staffordshire Terriers and their crosses are treated as dangerous dogs. As a result, higher licensing and impoundment rates apply. These breeds are also required to be muzzled in public. In a recommendation to Council tonight, bylaw services will ask for direction with bringing forward a new bylaw.
