An outdoor concert to kickoff the Coldsnap Music Festival Friday night in Prince George, has been moved indoors by organizers of the week-long event.

According to a post on the festival’s facebook page, it expects strong gusty winds to combine with cool temperatures to make for high wind-chills.   It says the move is being made for the safety and the comfort of fans, musicians, and the production crew.

The free concert was going to be held in the Canada Games Plaza but will now be staged next door at the Prince George Civic and Conference Centre.

It features DJ Shub, Speed Control along with Kym Gouchie and the Khast’an Drummers.

Coldsnap performances are scheduled through February 11th at different locations throughout the city including the Ramada Ballroom, Prince George Playhouse, Prince George Legion and Fore Bistro.
