Kole Lind’s second goal of the game midway through the third period lifted the Kelowna Rockets to a 3 – 2 win over the Cougars in Prince George Friday night.
Lind opened the scoring in the first period with a shorthanded goal as the Rockets posted their first win against Prince George in 5 tries this season.
Colby McAuley and Jesse Gabrielle scored goals for the Cougars, who were outshot 16 to 5 in the third period and 34 – 32 overall.
The loss prevented Cougars netminder Ty Edmonds from becoming the winningest goaltender in team history. Edmonds is tied with Scott Myers at 95 career wins.
The two clubs will meet again tonight at 7:00pm CN Centre.
