Reid Gardiner and Nick Merkley had a pair of goals each to lead the Kelowna Rockets to a 5 – 1 win in Prince George Saturday, and a sweep of their weekend doubleheader at CN Centre.
The Rockets picked up where they left off in Friday’s 3 – 2 victory, jumping out to a 2 – 0 lead after twenty minutes.
Jesse Gabrielle brought the crowd of more than 4300 to their feet in the second period with his 25th goal of the season.
But less than two minutes later, Reid Gardiner scored his first of two goals to restore the two goal cushion.
After scoring a pair Friday, Kole Lind added another Saturday night as the Rockets extended the Cougars home ice wining streak to three games.
Prince George will try to return to their winning ways Tuesday when the Vancouver Giants pay a visit to CN Centre.
