Transit To Be Tweaked

Transit riders will see some enhanced services come this Fall. A presentation was made to Council to outline how the City “will get the best bang for the buck” after Council approved adding 2,500 hours of service to Transit.
To start, all statutory holidays, except Christmas and New Year’s, will have bus service, and additional services will be added on Saturdays.
The City surveyed riders about services last Fall and found that riders were, for the most part, happy with services, but identified the lack of shelters and some of the longer routes are concerning. In particular, while 25% of ridership is students, there is no bus shelter at UNBC.
The City says some of the routes will be altered to address their length, while talks to add more shelters have begun.
The new routes and services will take effect September 5th of this year.
