Just because the Coldsnap Music Festival is coming to an end, doesn’t mean the winter celebrations are. The inaugural Downtown Winter Carnival is scheduled for Sunday.
From 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., residents can enjoy everything winter. A snow slide is being built, and people will be able to take rides on the Cottonwood Express train. Live music, snow carving, a hockey game and a s’more competition is sure to get people into the winter spirit.
Roads will be closed off for the event, which is taking place in front of City Hall on George Street.
“We are definitely celebrating winter. The road hockey game will be a lot of fun. Come down, bring your sticks. 2 o’clock the Caribou Cougars will be out there to play with the best of the best,” says the Executive Director of Downtown Prince George, Colleen Van Mook. “We are excited about winter. We are excited about downtown. Put them together and there’s s’more downtown and there’s snow much fun!”
