It has been a busy time for city crews. This morning they repaired a water main break on Ingledew. And over the weekend Prince George residents and commercial properties woke up to major flooding on Saturday. Crews were out early in the day fixing a water service break along the east side of the Hart Highway near Shady Lane. Maintenance crews were on hand around 7 a.m. evacuating residents from their homes and local motels. One city worker says they were trying to determine if the flooding was due to a water main break or a fire hydrant. The flooding started outside of the Spotless Uniform building, before water quickly flowed southbound, submerging the parking lot and entrance to the Rosebud Motel. Water was seen up to the doors and flowing into neighbouring homes. Traffic was reduced to single lanes in each direction. There’s no word on how much damage was caused.
