Those in Northern BC wanting to die with the help from medical professionals can now look at a formal policy laid out by Northern Health before deciding.
The federal government passed legislation in June of last year to allow individuals to choose a medically assisted death.
Previously, individuals who wanted to die with the help of a physician would have to go through the Supreme Court of Canada.
Northern Health suggests that only those with chronic or untreatable medical medical conditions can access their service.
There have been 6 cases of individuals using the service so far.
