Terrace Hospital X-Rays To Be Reexamined

Prince George, BC, Canada / CKPG News

Northern Health officials are investigating the interpretation quality of a series of radiology exams that took place at Mills Memorial Hospital in Terrace recently. More than 8,400 images, taken between October and January, are being reexamined after concerns were raised over inconsistencies.
The images affected were takes during CT scans, Ultrasounds and general X-Rays.
They were interpreted by one radiologist. That doctor is on a voluntary leave while the images are re-examined by a group of Radiologists in Vancouver.
Northern Health says it expects the images will be re-read by the end of March. It says it has acted quickly to deal with issue and assures the public there is no public risk. Family physicians will contact patients only if necessary.
