The former head of the Prince George RCMP detachment, is the new Deputy Commissioner and Commanding Officer of the RCMP’s E-Division, which oversees Mounties in British Columbia and the Yukon.
Mike Morris, the provincial Minister of Public Safety and Solicitor General, says he is looking forward to working with Brenda Butterworth-Carr. Butterworth-Carr is a member of a Yukon First Nation. She is the first indigenous woman to be named as the E-Division Deputy Commissioner. Butterworth-Carr joined the R-C-M-P in 1987 as a Native Special Constable. She acted as the Superintendent of the Prince George Detachment from 2008 to 2010.
