Power Restored Along Carney  Street  After Minivan Slams Into Power Pole (Updated)

Some residents along Carney Street and the cross streets of 10th and 12th Avenues were without power for hours last night after a minivan was seen speeding along an icy back-alley, before slamming into a power pole, knocking it over. Neighbours say the chaos started with a loud bang, around 7:30pm. Police were on scene seconds after the incident.
Damage to the minivan was extensive, with the engine being ripped right out of the vehicle. No details from RCMP on what led to the incident and whether or not anyone was taken into custody. Power has since been restored.
