The Prince George Community Foundation is accepting applications for it’s community grants program. Every year, the foundation provides two rounds of funding to organizations and projects in the community.
“Most recently, we provided funding for 13 organizations, and there were things like community gardens and we had also support for providing music to events, and youth programs, children’s camp programs, seniors walking program. It goes on and on.”
To date, the foundation has provided funding to over 100 charitable organizations and countless projects. It is providing $1000 grants for new projects and $2,500 grants in multi-year funding. Residents have until March 15th to submit an application.
“1999 was the first year we provided funding, $1000 dollars went out for grants. Now to date, it is near $2 million that we have granted back. Now that is not just the small grants program that I am talking about, but it’s the other organizations or people that have donated to us and said we would like our endowment funds to go to this specific organization or this specific cause.”
