A province wide campaign to crack down on distracted drivers is underway for the month of March. People not wearing a seat belt are also being targeted by the campaign. In Prince George, the first week has already seen 36 distracted driving violations, along with 31 seat belt related fines. Distracted driving is the second leading cause of traffic deaths in BC with an average of 81 per year. Distracted driving also carries a three-hundred sixty-eight dollar fine.
