PGSO Music Director Named

The Prince George Symphony Orchestra has a new Music Director. Michael Hall has been introduced to the city.
Hall is Canadian but has been working in the United States since 2002. He’s currently employed with the Kennett Symphony in Pennsylvania. Before that, he acted as the Music Director for the Southwest Florida Symphony.
Hall is recognized for his inspired performances as a maestro, imaginative programming and his passion for developing new audiences. “I’d love to see the outreach continue to grow,” said Hall. “What I think an orchestra has to be in the twenty-first century, is relevant to as many people as possible.”
The hiring caps more than a year of work by the organization’s search committee. The P.G.S.O. Board Chair John DeGrace calls Hall’s appointment crucial. “This is an important milestone in the life of the symphony,” he said.
Hall will be moving to Prince George in the summer to begin his new position August 1st. “Being born and raised in Toronto, it is thrilling to come back home and work again in Canada,” he said. “I look forward to learning more about Prince George and discover the unique qualities of the region.”
