The Prince George Cougars have locked down home-ice in round number one of the WHL Playoffs.
A 4-3 victory in Spokane on Saturday guarantees the cats a first or second place finish in the BC Division.
It was also history in the making. The cats clinched their 44th win on the season, the most in franchise history in a single season.
The Cats did lead 3-0 at one point on Saturday before the Chiefs made things interesting.
Jared Bethune picked up a goal and an assist while Josh Curtis, Nikita Popugaev and Josh Anderson also rippled twine for the Cats.
Prince George out-shot Spokane 40-30.
The Cats wrap up their season with a home-and-home with the Kamloops Blazers starting Friday in Kamloops, before finishing the season back at home on Saturday.
