HIGHLIGHTS: Controversial Call Costs Cariboo Game 2 In Double OT

The Cariboo Cougars are fighting for their playoff lives as a double overtime winner from Connor Westch on Saturday stood to be the game winner.

Westch picked up an aerial pass as he crossed the blue line before cutting to the net and Jeremy Gervais reached in to deflect the shot up and over goaltender Zach Wickson, hitting the cross bar and post and quickly squirting out the other side.

The Giants believe they had a game winner, and with the officials deliberating it was ruled a good goal, notching the series up at 1-1.

In the meantime, the Giants took full advantage of being down 1-0 in the series, as Liam Kindree hammered home a pair of goals for Vancouver.

However, Daine Dubois picked up a couple himself to claw his team back into the game and force overtime.

Captain Jason Pomeroy still remain questionable for Game 3 as he took a big hit from Justin Fodchuk late in period 3 that sent him crashing into the boards in front of the Giants bench.

Head Coach Trevor Sprague visibly upset by the game winning goal, but admits it’s time to focus on the next one.

Puck drop is set for 9:45 a.m.
