Longtime Northern Social Worker Wins Prestigious Bridget Moran Award

Longtime Northern social worker Deborah Pederson , born and raised in Prince George, is this year’s recipient of the Bridget Moran Advancement of Social Work in Northern Communities Award.  Bridget was a tireless  northern  social work activist  fired from her   job in the  1960s  for  speaking  out  against the province’s lack of   appropriate   social services  for children and families. Pederson currently works as a Northern Health social worker in Quesnel , with a focus on older adults. She’s also mentored a number of UNBC and CNC students in the field during her years as an instructor.
