Province Announces School Upgrade Funds

Five Prince George area elementary schools are expected to benefit from about $900,000 in funding from the provincial government.

Foothills, Edgewood, Pineview, Nukko Lake and Blackburn Elementary schools will see upgrades completed on their heating, air conditioning and plumbing systems over the summer. Prince George – Mackenzie M.L.A. Mike Morris said “The continued support for the Prince George School District is part of the BC Government’s firm commitment to British Columbia students and families.”

The provincial government also announced 600 thousand dollars to support schools across the district to purchase classroom supplies and equipment for the new school year.  “New equipment, supplies and updated facilities play an essential part in ensuring continued success in our schools,” said Shirley Bond, the MLA for Prince George Valemount.

With the $900,000 dollars in funding, the government says it has invested $153 million into the School Enhancement Program since 2014.
