Jim Pattison is donating $75 million dollars to support the development of a new healthcare centre in Vancouver. It’s the largest donation ever made by a private citizen to a medical facility in Canada.
The BC billionaire made the donation to the St. Paul’s Hospital Foundation. The Foundation says the funds will be used to build a major medical and research centre as part of the new St. Paul’s Hospital. The 18.4 acre facility will be named as the Jim Pattison Medical Centre.
The Foundation says the Centre will offer world-class services that will touch Vancouver and all parts of the province, offering specialized surgical services, mental health care and primary care.
