Tomorrow is a day to pull pranks and have a little fun with your friends and coworkers. It’s also a day to do some good. April 1st is “April Foods Day” for the Salvation Army in Prince George.
“It’s always difficult after Christmas for us to keep the shelves stocked,” says Bill Glasgow, the Business Manager of the Prince George Salvation Army. “People tend to give us a lot at Christmas, and then they sort of forget about us. So March and April are kind of the toughest months for us.”
The event was started three years ago by 101.3 The River and 99.3 The Drive. A 1 ton cube van will be parked at the Spruceland Save-On-Foods tomorrow. “Drop by any time between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m., say hello, drop off some non-perishable food items,” says Mike Benny with the River Wake Up, “and happy ‘April Foods Day’.”
The Salvation army is in need of peanut butter, canned meats, canned fruits and vegetables, beans, Kraft Dinner and feminine products. Cash donations are also welcome.
