This afternoon, College of New Caledonia held an event to help alleviate stress for staff and students before upcoming exams. The college provided free ice-cream, cake, games and even therapy dogs to encourage relaxation, even during this stressful time. The school hosts events like this roughly five times per year to encourages students to take care of their mental well-being. Since the college has such a high volume of students from around the world, the event was Canadian themed. This gave the international students an opportunity to celebrate Canada’s 150th birthday before the summer, when many of them return home. The celebration was complete with a wall that allowed participants to write down words that describe what they love about the country. Some of those words included mountains, democracy, education, and of course, beer.
