Twenty percent of the world’s population resides in India. With over 1 point 3 billion residents, access to good health care and education is challenging. A group of Prince George residents are working together to help meet some of those challenges. Their goal is to improve maternal and infant health in India. Shobha Sharma is the founder of Our Satya, it’s an organization that’s helping to empower rural women in India, by giving them the tools to access health and wellness for their families. With Sharma’s help, the women produce hand made bags which are shipped to Prince George and sold to the public. It’s helped the women develop their independence and financial literacy skills. Our Satya will be selling the bags during a fundraising event April 22nd at Hubspace.
