The federal government is one step closer to legalizing recreational marijuana.
Legislation was introduced Thursday morning in the House of Commons that would see 18 as the minimum legal age to buy pot.
Prime Minister Justin Trudeau promised he would legalize marijuana during his campaign in 2015.
The new legislation outlines that those 18 and older, would be able to publicly possess up to 30 grams of dried cannabis, grow up to four cannabis plants per residence, no higher than one metre and produce legal marijuana products, such as food or drinks, for personal use.
Prince George Mayor Lyn Hall says the city has no current plans on drafting a bylaw until more steps are taken provincially.
