Moose Feces Could Help Determine Population Decline

Moose feces may help determine why the population is declining rapidly in British Columbia.

A UNBC biologist and the Spruce City Wildlife Association are asking the public to pick up moose droppings anywhere in Northern BC before they send them to the U-S for further examination.

SCWA ask that you collect 8-12 pellets and drop them off at their River Road location.

The association says the majority of people believe moose eat willow in the winter months, but tests indicate that moose are eating sub alpine fur.
