It was the first weekend of advanced polls as voters had the chance to get out and cast their ballot. Taking advantage of that, were two of the six local candidates. On Saturday Liberal candidate for Prince George – Valemount, Shirley Bond, showed up at the Elder Citizens Recreation Association along with her husband to cast a ballot. Bond waited in line, speaking with other voters saying she’s glad to see others out, and taking advantage of the advanced polls. Meanwhile, Bobby Deepak, the New Democrat candidate for Prince George – Mackenzie was joined by his family to cast his vote in the Hart at Christ Our Saviour Church Hall. He filled out his ballot, before dropping it into the ballot box. Deepak hinted that BC NDP leader John Horgan, who was in Prince George last week, may make another stop in the area before the May 9th election. Advanced polls will be open again on May 3rd until the 6th from 8am to 8pm.
