Northern Post-Secondary Marketing Plan Underway

UNBC and the College of New Caledonia are joining forces with Northwest Community College and Northern Lights College to brand the four institutions.
“We’re working with a marketing group to help us carve a brand for the North that will really market us together as an educational destination for students,” explains Dr. Daniel Weeks, President of UNBC. “Not only from around the globe but from other parts of Canada and even the Lower Mainland.”
The average tuition in Canada is $6,373 per year and the highest tuition is in Ontario at $8,114. With the average BC tuition at $5,534, that will make the marketing somewhat easier to sell.
“Our challenge is, many of students will go South for their education and we’re trying to find a mechanism to retain Northern students,” says Henry Reiser, President of the College of New Caledonia. “And we’re looking at how we can leverage the outdoors activities with the quality of lifestyle that’s affordable.”
They hope to have a brand to launch in the Fall of this year.
