Dutch Community Honours Canada For Role In 1945

The Dutch community in Prince George gathered at the Cenotaph on Saturday to commemorate and pay respects to the liberation of Holland from German occupation by Canadian soldiers in 1945.

The 8th annual event saw many out sharing personal stories.

The dutch sent 100,000 tulips to show appreciation to Canada at the end of the war, something that has continued, as the Netherlands send over 10,000 bulbs every year.
