A $15 million fundraising project for UNBC is going public. The Northern Leadership campaign has been quietly underway for about two and a half years. Over that time, officials have raised more than 50% of the goal. But now it’s reaching out to residents for the remaining funds.
UNBC says the Northern Leadership campaign will support pivotal priorities that will bolster its leadership as one of Canada’s best small research-intensive universities. It says the campaign will support stronger research, while creating solutions to local issues and creating a new generations of leaders in northern BC.
Tracey Wolsey, the Chair of the UNBC Board of Governors says, “the fruits of this campaign will empower economic, social and cultural prosperity for British Columbia and Canada.”
“Through research and scholarship, UNBC is educating the next generation of innovative leaders,” says UNBC President Dr. Daniel Weeks. “As Canada’s best small research-intensive university, our faculty and students are harnessing opportunities and discovering new ways to resolve many of the challenges our country is facing as a northern nation.”
