Alternate Approval Process On Four Projects

Council is moving forward with an Alternate Approval Process to determine the public’s appetite to borrow more than $9 million for four projects. Those projects include replacing vehicles in the City’s fleet, new dispatch equipment, upgrades to the Public Works Yard, a park alongside the Nechako River at the Foothills Bridge and a new system to clean storm water from a portion of the Hart before it enters McMillan Creek.
The Alternate Approval Process requires the public to object to, in this case, any or all of the four projects by filling out an Electoral Response Form. The deadline to do that is 5 p.m. on July 12th. Ten percent or more of the total number of electors within the City must submit a form in order to bring them to an end. Tat number is 5,418.
The results of the process will be released at the July 24th regular Council meeting.
