Due to increased water levels along Cottonwood Island Park, the City of Prince George is closing trails in the park as a precautionary measure.
While trails are not flooded, the elevated water level has resulted in puddles and ponds. Signs and barricades are being put in place to deter foot traffic from the canoe launch to just south of the rail bridge.
Parking lots are still open at this time. Staff will monitor the river level over the coming days, and will reopen trails when safe.
