Local Snowboarder Has Sights Set On Olympics

A local snowboarder who’s got a pretty good chance at going to next year’s Olympics. Meryeta O’Dine was recently named to the national snowboardcross team for the second year in a row. But this year is obviously a little bit of a bigger deal with the Winter Olympics coming up in South Korea in February. There’s still a long way to go for O’Dine to qualify for the Games, but she says she’s sitting in a really good spot to qualify and is feeling pretty good about her chances. This past year was a big one for O’Dine, which included her first podium finish at a World Cup event. That helped earn her another spot on the national team this year, which is extra special for the young Prince George native heading in to an Olympic year.
