UPDATE: Washout At Manson Creek; Strands 20 Plus Campers

The Ministry of Forests, Lands and Natural Resource Operations has updated CKPG News saying “Ministry engineering staff were working on the roads over the weekend, and continue to clear debris this week. A temporary by-pass is being built around the washout and the bridge on the Osilinka is expected to be in working condition tomorrow. Engineering staff are keeping the communities, EMBC and BC Ambulance Service updated on progress.”

A small northern BC village is running low on supplies after a washout to their main road on Friday night. Manson Creek, located 200 kilometres north of Fort Saint James. Pictures sent into our news room by stranded campers and RV goers along with residents show much of the road washed away, with damage to the bridge as well. The Omineca General Store in Manson Creek has also ran out of fuel to serve the stranded 20 or so campers. Residents in Germansen Landing say they have been stranded as well.
