The hospital’s army of Auxiliary volunteers gathered at the Lheidli T’enneh Memorial Park band shell this morning to present $150,000 to the Spirit of the North foundation. The money will help fund a Breast Health Imaging Center that will not only cut down on patient wait time, but also get better, clearer results.
The Spirit of the North Foundation has held multiple fundraisers this year and with the most recent donation, they have reached the $500,000 goal, making the project possible.
This is the first “Canada Day” themed celebration of the year, but more activities and entertainment will be happening happening later this week. Saturday will include family friendly activities and entertainment at the park, and the free outdoor concert series, Heatwave, will take place at Canada Games plaza all of next week.
