All aboard. You can chug your way into Canada’s 150th Birthday at the Exploration Place, at no cost.
Since 2013, the Exploration Place has been offering free train rides to families on Canada Day via the Little Prince Steam Engine.
Every July 1st between noon and 4 p.m., over 1000 people ride the train. This year is extra special, being a landmark anniversary … and with great weather on the way, it’s expected to draw a huge crowd. People are advised to come early to secure a spot in line.
“You can’t beat a birthday party,” says Tracy Calogheros, CEO of The Exploration Place. “So Canada Day this year down at the museum we are doing free train rides. That was courtesy Pioneer Track and Rail who do all of our repair work for us and maintain our track. Our galleries are going to be open by donation. So you get a chance to check out the new Hodul’eh-a gallery as well as KEVA blocks are upstairs. So come on down, it doesn’t have to cost a fortune. You can have a blast with us.”
