Local MP Bob Zimmer says he is disappointed with media reports that indicate the federal government will pay Omar Khadr more than ten million dollars.
Zimmer calls Khadr a convicted terrorist. Khadr was born in Toronto but arrested at the age of 15 by U.S. troops. He was accussed of fighting for al-Qadea in Afghanistan.
During U.S. court procedures, Khadr confessed to killing Sgt. Christopher Speers, a U.S. Special Forces medic.
Zimmer supports the call by Conservative leader Andrew Scheer to call on Khadr to turn over any money he receives to the Speers family.
