Monday marked day 3 of operations for the College of New Caledonia as being the Emergency Reception Centre for hundreds of evacuees fleeing from the Cariboo Wildfires.
Many are continuing to grow frustrated and are still in shock from what they have witnessed over the last week.
Mayor Lyn Hall says he expects to see 600 evacuees from 100 Mile House as that community was given an evacuation order on Sunday.
Evacuees are camped out at the College of New Caledonia parking lot, and Denis Carter, who evacuated from 108 Mile Ranch says frustration is setting in, not knowing what will be left to go back to.
“It’s been like hell.” said .
“We can’t find anything out about 108 which is making us a little cheesed.”
UNBC and PGSS have also been opened up for evacuees.
