The Timberwolves women’s soccer team has brought in a recruit with NCAA experience.
The team announced today that Ashley Volk has transferred from McKendree University in Illinois, and will join the T-Wolves this upcoming season.
Volk started 13 games as a freshman for the Bearcats last season, and helped the team to a 17-5-1 record.
Volk is originally from Victoria, and trained with head coach Neil Sedgwick as a young athlete.
“One of the major attractions to UNBC is that it is the number one school in Canada. I have known Neil a long time and know the soccer environment I’ll be in,” said Volk in a statement. “I will develop not only as a soccer player, but as a person.”
“We are very excited to add Ashley to our program. She is technically sound, and has a strong understanding of how we want the game to be played,” said Sedgwick. “I have seen her progress into a player who is seasoned, mature, and wants the very best for her team.”
